can i throw in some money for the lightning to win?

well KB did it with his 4.8. Of course he had a turbo, and meth.... and an ECSB 4x4.....

 

you forgot to mention you dont have second gear. get you trany fixed pulley down to a 3.0 or lower get a new tune. if your gonna run meth tune for it as well. A 12.6 lightning is heavily moded those things stock are 14s and I bet that was with wrinkles. you got some work ahead of you but I think its possible with your truck

 

On my 6.0 it was definitely a worth while mod, Good luck with the race.

 

Thanks guys,ill go all out on this 4.8 first,and yes im getting a new tranny in this thing by next week as well,since i parked it,i went ahead and did the cam swap,i want to do some other things as well.
I read an old article a guy STOICHMETRIC RAN A 12.1 WITH HIS 4.8 112 radix as well,so now i know its possible.his article made my day.

 

Run 16" wheels and drag radials....think there was a piece in GMHTP about similar with a TBSS last mo (?). Since u need to stay @ 6lbs u can play with the valves/cam/springs and play with the wave tuning of the motor. Just read a CAR-TECH book and it talks at length about tuning the valve train for torque and ponies at diff points along the RPM curve. Whats in the Lightning? If its got stock internals, u can prob do some research (its free!) and find out where he makes most power along the curve and beat him there. Either way, if uv been around the track, or even watched Pinks, ull know that most of the races are won out of the hole. Good Luck!

The mods on the lightning are,full lenght headers bassani,bassani exh,10lbs,stage 2 cams,stock 3.73,head work,and i guess a sh1tty tune cause he only runs a 12.6
The race will happen as soon as im ready,this guy is real cocky and told me ''To bring that typical breaking chevy whenever its ready''So i just want to shut him up!!When this happens,it will be on vid.

Your right buddy,i think i have a chance if i can jump out on him,im going to do a stall as well

 

Also keep in mind that this is a "street" race. He may have the edge power wise but you may have the edge traction wise. I know I could never win a street race from a dig because of traction issues.
