Default Green spark plug strap...

Whatcha think?

Saw slight misfiring under high boost so I pulled the plugs and saw this...BR7EF plugs, 0.025" gap, spraying some meth. AFR is about 0.70 lambda when the meth sprays, 0.76 without. I thought it might be a rich misfire, but not sure... Never seen green before.

Some research says its from the strap getting too hot and oxidizing, but im skeptical. Either way I have some range 8 plugs im going to try.

I wouldn't be suprised if you have weird idle problems and a loss of throttle response with those 8s

When i put my turbo on i pulled the passenger side plugs and all of them looked like that. Except a lil more green. Ive read its from the ethanol, to being on the hot side. I dunno. I put them back in and still running them

But I have never seen a green electrode with mine, but I did find this through Tech: http://grounds-mag.com/mag/grounds_m...g_spark_plugs/

Relevant piece:

One sign of heat used by some professionals is electrode color. Many--but not all--spark-plug electrodes have an alloy composition that will oxidize green when subjected to high temperatures (see Photo 2, again). This nickel oxide on the center wire and sidewire would show up first at the tip of the electrode--the hottest part--and progress from there, depending on temperature. Excessive green oxide may signal it's time to change to a colder plug. Several causes of high spark-plug temperature are described in the boxed information at left. The main thing to keep in mind here is that not all electrodes oxidize (turn green) at the same rate, if at all. Therefore, your best bet is to turn to a technician with experience reading plugs.

I have seen this happen several times when the motor runs lean.

The timing/heat range looks good. But the plug look rich at some point. Did u idle a good bit before removing the plug? I have seen the green before and fuel man said it was fuel additives in the fuel. But I don't think its a problem. On the GTR we run the iridium plugs and work out great. We are running boost level from 28lb to 38lb.

Our plugs used to be green like that when we used nitrous with the tr6 back in the 100shot days.

Maybe melting some aluminum somewhere?
