Default This a good boost cam?

223/223 .617"/.617" 113+5

Was told by someone this would be a good turbo for a daily driver that will get turbo'd in the future, I am looking for something that does decent out of boost, but really compliments the turbo when it kicks in. Not looking
For a very choppy idle. Also, any suggestions on springs? This is going in a semi budget build for a s10 with a rear mounted Denmah special gt45 turbo.stock heads with gaskets and studs, ls1 intake, and headers. Not looking for tons of power, ~500rwhp I'd be tickled to death over. Thanks for any suggestions or help.

That is a super interesting cam. Never seen something like it. It should be a really healthy can and will need a good stall to match. What motor will it go into? It should make some noise. Briantooley makes some great dual springs for a reasonable budget. LS1 intake is just about the worst one you could pick IMO.

briantooley is the one that sent me the cam specs.just havent seen many cams with that much advance in the LSA like that.

well LS1 intake was kind of in the budget. i didnt think with FI the intake would make THAT much of a difference since we are only talking 500hp at most

Brian knows how to spec a cam. As long as you got him all the components that you are using in your build, he knows the valve events that are needed to work.

I guess if you get an LS1 intake for free then it's fine, but even the truck intake has advantages over the LS1 intake. I guess being an s10 the LS1 intake might help with hood clearance. Again what motor is this going into? What stall are you planning on using?

yes the only reason i am going with an ls1 intake is hood clearance. i dont care if the intake robs me of 10-25hp. im not looking to break any records or run any fast times. just want a fun street truck i can drive daily and be reliable on 8-10lb boost. i can justify spending $400+ on a ls6 intake, when i can save the money on a ls1 intake, and spend the money saved on a good cam instead of a used ls6 cam

its going in a 1999 s10, LM7 motor, mostly bone stock, plan on swapping out headstuds, head gasket, springs, pushrods, cam and intake.

not sure on stall either. was thinking about talking to circle D and see what they recommended.

If you are only wanting 500 hp the stock cam will do that easily. If you want more in the future a cam will make a big difference.

In a Rear mount lm7? The lm7 will make 250ish NA. 8lbs should deliver about 50% more power over NA. That puts him in the 375hp range. The cam will put him over 300 NA which 8lbs puts him about 450 and 10lbs should put him close to his goal.

I made 500rwhp with a stock cam at 12 psi with a rear mount.
