Default getttin my feet wet with boost on my 08 ... got a few pictures and questions ...

soooo whats up guys ... i've been fooling with ls1s for a while now. i went 11.40 in my convertible when i was 17 and then popped the motor a few years back ... bought my 370 .... then my truck .... then a can am renegade .... so i put my turbo car on the back burner and have mostly been playing with my can am and truck .

so here's the build ... this is goin to be done on the cheap ... REAL CHEAP... the truck is an 08 silvy ECSB with a 4.8 and the factory 3.23 gear (which my 22s HATE) ... i traded a bunch of tundra parts for an sts rear mount off an 99 and up truck .... the kit is mostly there and came with a 67/76 unit with a .81ar housing, remote oil pump, boost controller/gauge and a tial gate... i ordered a cx racing fmic and piping kit and boost gauge that should be here towards the end of the week ...

not trying to set any records just something to waste time and have some fun ... i've got some 60lb injectors out of my boss's kb lightning so the most expense will be in the tune ... i'm gonna need some help from you guys once i start putting the kit on the truck ... mostly just vaccum lines and oil feed and such .... one big question i have is concerning the tune ... i ran my cammed convertor ls1 car for years with out a tune.. even sprayed it, but this is a different world ... once i get the turbo on the truck can i drive it to my tuner as like that as long as i'm easy on it ? also do you think i need to do a speed density or leave the maf on it for this small amount of boost ....

what you guys think it'll do hp wise .... i'll try to get some pictures up of the truck itself tomorrow

Just keep it out of boost on the way to your tuner, or get him to flash a base tune so you can drive it there safely with the 60's already installed.

You will probally like those 323s when you get the boost going. My 22s have 0 traction from 40/45 rolls with 342s. Good luck with the build.

You can leave the stock inj in and drive to him. Swap in the 60s when you get there. It doesn't take long to swap them.

heres a picture of the truck when i was thinking about selling it ... it may be for sale again towards the end of the summer, but i need it to tow tha 4 wheeler around right now ...

i think i'll be calling mcgaughys soon and giving it a little altitude adjustment as well as going to 24s and selling my 22s...

this is my daily driver so i really don't wanna wait on a mail order ... i'll be using geoff at eps and its about a 4 hour drive from me so i'm not sure exactly what i'm goin to do about getting it to him

Geoff is my tuner as well, but I only have a 20 min drive to his shop from the house, and about 5 min from work. Just call him and get him to flash your ecu with a base tune so you can drive it to him safe. Thats what im doing with mine next week. Im going by his shop at lunch to pay for my tuning today.

Good luck with the build man!
