Default forged 370 + TVS2300 need ideas

I'm looking at a truck at the auction I work for, it's an 08 reg cab short box 2wd. Right now it has a 6 cylinder. The first question I have is what do I need to do to swap from a v6 to a v8. obviously I will need a tune, but is there any wiring problems I'm going to run into? Secondly I need to figure out which cam will be my best option for this build I want a truck that is reliable, fun to drive on the street, and has at least 600hp at the wheels on pump gas (the highest we have here is 91). How much boost would it take with this setup to reach my goal? any info you guys have would be great.

Thanks

So I finally found a thread that explained what to do as far as the v6 to v8 swap is concerned. Now I just need you supercharged guys to help me with my other questions.

Probably take 8-10lbs on a 370 to get you at 600hp to the wheels, but a lot depends on how good (or aggressive) your tune is, and what kind of compression, heads, exhaust, and cam you are running. There isnt really a blanket statement answer to your question.

Might to go ahead and consider trans and rear end upgrades now..

Thats what I'm trying to figure out. The truck I have now I wasted a lot of money on trying different things to make power. This truck I want to buy everything once and have the best possible combination I can get the first time. I know about all the supporting mods. I just need to know which cam/heads package would be the best for my goals. I am building this build is on somewhat of a budget. With $10,000 I need a forged engine, wiring harness, tune, fuel pump, injectors, blower, trans, and rearend. Do you guys think this is possible assuming I find some used parts and do most of the work myself?

MIGHT be possible, but it will be close depending on the parts. If you buy a new 2300 thats over half your budget...

Yeah I kinda came up with that budget in hope that I would find a used 2300, buy a built short block, a performabuilt trans. That alone would take up most of my budget. but I don't have to do the trans right away. I can take it easy on the stock one till I save up a little more.

short block and 2300 will eat up that 10k real quick. pick up an older truck that's already a v8 to make better use of the money.

yeah but I think I can pick up this 08 with 38,000 miles for about 8k. I'd be stupid not to get it.

If you are getting it for just a project truck I would look for something closer to what you want to end up with, v8 for example.
