Default Firewall heat shield?

The insulation stuff across my fire wall looks like pure ***. It's all ripped up and when the motor went it sprayed oil out the dip stick and all over the place so no it's oil soaked. What can I use in place of this that's easy to get and won't cost an arm and a leg. If love to do lizard skin but due to the engine build it's out of my price range.

I'd like to know as well. I took mine off a while ago and have never replaced it.

Just remove it and clean it up. It looks a ton better without it. I haven't had it for awhile and have no problems

I went ahead and cut most of the stock stuff out. Leaving in the portion right under the cowl. My hands were covered in oil. It was like a candle wick just waiting to be lit. I'll figure out what to do later.

I'm going to pick up the block and heads today. I'm ready to grind the block smooth and paint it so I can get this bad mother built!!
