Default Done w/ the Front Single

Decided to swap from an STS to my own setup.

I used the stock manifold, flipped it, used a 2 into 1 Y collector, feeding into the T76.
I decided to use an a/w intercooler, I'm curious how it'll perform.
Heat exchanger is big, 26x12x3.5"
I'll build an a/a intercooler setup later.

Took it for a drive today, just finished it.
Boost is pretty instant, not much lag at all.
The truck is very quiet! Exhaust consists of 3" dp into a 36" 4.0" dia Magnaflow.
It's dumped right now, but it'll exit in the stock location.

Iat is located just in front of the throttle body.
Intake temps are very stable. 102deg during driving, cools down as I drive faster, but not under boost.
Under 5psi, 112deg was hit. Seems to be very comparable to the TVS' we install. Never hit above 120deg. Meth nozzle will be installed later.

A/f ratio is dead on, timing is great! Something I noticed, Ltrims are very close, and perfect. I have the passenger side O2 in the small curve off the manifold. It's reading only the passenger side. Driver's side is in the stock location. Setup is designed to read o2's independently.

I only decided on the cold tube design for those still running a maf. Later, the intercooler exit routing will only consist of an elbow directly into the throttle body.

Sparkplug wires. I went old school, wires consist of an elbow on the sparkplug side, going forward and around the manifold, into the upside down mounted coils.

Only thing I'll be changing is, custom coolant tank is being made for the passenger side corner.
Flexible dipstick tube, I think Lokar makes one.

Underhood temps are no problem at all.
All hot tubes clear the a/c hoses. I built the system around the hoses, so they are in the stock location.

Anyway, here it is.

Looks very clean, how much timing are you able to run with these hot summer days?

Hi A',

I'm not pushing it so it's around 20 or so on the topend, but the setup is only at 5psi right now. At the track with a few gallons of race gas, mid to high 20's are possible at 5psi.

thanks,
allen

Great build! How much air do you think that A/W IC will flow max?

Clean set up.
Isn't a shorter piping from the cooler to the intake will make it less lag?

Not sure, it's not rated for much, but I'll soon find out.
At 5psi, it's no problem, at 10psi, I think 135deg will be generated, but I'll have to install some pressure sensors to measure drop.
I have all the room available behind the bumper, I have a 15x15x4" on the way, or something around that measurement.

Yes, spool comes in very quick! No wait time.
Much quicker than the sts.
A lot quicker than the procharger.
Slower than a 112 radix
Close to a tvs2300 on a 6L, but this setup will hold the boost with half throttle, it doesn't fall off, which I kind of like, just a characteristic of a turbo I guess.

thanks for the comments,

LOL! Saw the title "Done w/ the Front Single" and was shocked. Thought you meant you were fed up with it and were changing plans.

Very clean build (as expected!).
