So got the aeromotive 340 in today, and installed it in a brand new Delphi bucket, just so I had a fresh regulator and filter. Made my own Hotwire kit, 10awg from the alternator, 30a fuse to a relay, the out directly to the plug on the pump, triggering the relay from the stock voltage supply and ground, and then ran a 10awg ground off the oem to the plug to the frame. Everything works great, but it still seems to be dropping a bit of pressure. At idle/cruise it holds 58psi, and then when I get into boost I'm seeing about 52psi. The truck is an 07 classic so it's returnless. I mean as long as it doesn't go lean, I should be ok with 52psi right? I mean right now I'm seeing 11.1 on my wideband

I wish I could find the data logs from when mine was still returnless with the procharger. If I remember right, a single in tank 255, 60lb injectors and an alky control kit turned all the way up it ran 11.07 at 121 mph. This was around 4710 lbs with me in it.

This thread kind of reminded me of those days

I didn't put a return system on it until I did the drop/bogarts/8-rib ****. Still running the same fuel system except now a return regulator and a 4303 magnafuel..........I do remember the HPTuners telling me my ID cycle was near 140%. lol

Yea a little bit of drop is normal. It's fine. You can correct for that by fudging the VE table a little. A 340 can definitely handle the power you are making in a returnless system.

At that point they arent really doing anything extra... it wants more fuel but it physically can't get it.

Yeah I've been scratching my head all night thinking I did something wrong, but all my research has come to the conclusion that returnless sucks and I will see a pressure drop. Tune it getting finished up Tuesday. So we will see what comes of it.

Also for anyone thinking about doing the 340, it fit great in the returnless bucket. Use pinch clamps, I think my 255 actually was fine, but I used worm gear clamps on it before and noticed that they were basically hand tight. I went to Lowes and bought some Apollo 3/8 and 1/2 pinch clamps and they are tight and should never come loose
