Converting Eaton MP112 from Ford to LS?
What all would be needed? I've got my eye on one for pretty cheap but I don't know what all would be involved to make it work on my 5.3.
Anyone know what it would take? |
Biggest part I think would just be a lower intake manifold, the rest shouldn't be hard, also not sure of the snout offset, you would need to make sure it lines up with your other accessories.
The rotor cases are all the same by eaton, it's the snout, lower tub manifold and such that are vehicle specific I believe . I would like to see also if you can make it work easy enough. |
I have wondered about this myself. I program and run cnc mills for work and have contemplated buying one of these and making my own lower manifold. It could be offset a bit to line up the pulleys but I am not sure how everything would line up and don't want to be out the cash if it doesn't work out.

I may try it. Right now I can pick it up for about 400 shipped, if I cant get it to work, there are done Ford guys around that I could sell it to.
|
True. Try it, let us know if you get it to work. How would you go about making a lower manifold?
|
Hard to say until I have it in front of me to see what I'm working with.

I actually started a thread on a Tahoe website but I'm curious how hard putting a M90 from the 3.8 Chevrolet V6 would be on a Vortec 350.No one makes a blower for those motors anymore and I think a kit using the M90 or M112 from the Lightning/Cobra platform wouls be great

You can usually find 122s for about that on ebay.

After doing some looking... It appears this has been done before on a different forum. I'll post the link if it doesn't get me in trouble. Apparently they built their own intake, and I must say it looks well done.
Found someone on LS1tech that did it https://ls1tech.com/forums/forced-in...ls1-bmw-6.html |
