Conversion Flange for Radix J-Tube/90mm LS2 Throttle Body ....PICS inside!!
#141
Thanks Grippy. So to clarify, the UMI throttle body uses the same flange as the 90mm Corvette. If a guy wants to put a cable unit on his truck, he can buy one of our adapted tubes and bolt on the UMI throttle body.
Do I have this right?

Ok this is lame. How do you get the TB bolts out of the J-Tube? Are they simply screwed in and if so is there a socket with a reverse Torqx that I can get to take it off or what? I ask because I am trying to install my NW TB today and it comes with its own bolt for the top bolt hole due to the thickness of the TB.

I used a plain socket in something like 5mm or 6mm. It fits directly over the torx points and lets you unscrew it. Otherwise, put two nuts over the bolt, tighten them against each other, and use one to back the stud off the flange.

Vice grips may ruin the studs. The double nut method works and is the safe bet if you don't have a set of the Torx sockets. I had to get a set. Too cool a tool to not have

it is definately better to have the right tool...but to get them out quickly the vice grips worked well, like i said they were not that tight. And others have had luck w/ them too (I was not the mastermind of this idea).
Good luck!
