Default Cold climate sticking Waste Gate

I have a KB Racing turbo kit with precision Waste Gate and 7lb spring installed. It worked perfectly all summer & fall but now that the cold of winter is here (temps below 32F) its sticking and my boost is getting as high as 20 before I blow off a boot on the cold ducts. If I warm the truck up completely, then shut it off for 5-10 mins and go out for another drive, the Waste Gate free's up on the first boost and then works fine again all day long. Is this normal?

It almost seems like there is moisture inside the WG and is freezing up and taking time to thaw out? Just seems odd since its welded to the exhaust downpipe and gets hot enough to boil any water out.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

What state do you live in?
You say welded to downpipe, meaning it's on crossover pipe and recirculating?
Or it's on manifold and recirculating in engine bay?

I'm in Connecticut.

My bad I should have been more clear... The W/G is on the crossover pipe and vents into the downpipe on its way to the CAT. Physical location is right near the passenger side of the trans bell housing so its pretty low.

One of the things you get from combustion is water, so there will always be water in the exhaust. I doubt its freezing and sticking since 1000degree exhaust will melt ice pretty quickly. Its more like corrosion around the shaft, might want to pull it off and take a look.

That's exactly what is happening. I had it happen a lot when I lived in WY, especially when I still had the STS back in the old days, lol. Just let it warm up a bit and it will melt the ice from the condensation and be fine. It's a cold weather turbo truck problem.

I had this issue last winter it was water in the line, from the intake. I took it off and drained it when warm and got rid of the problem.
