There is new (non braided) fuel hose out there that works with the push-on hose ends that appears to not have the same problem. I think Earl's makes it.

I have my Maggie sitting on the bench ready to go in hopefully next week. I took the shraeder valve out... and am going to install the fuel pressure sender there that came with my Autometer Cobalt gauge. I'll hard plumb it out of the way if it interfere's with the coil pack bracket/coil... for me I'm not to worried about how it looks as long as it functions correctly.

Just food for thought...

no issues with my braided line, however I used Parker lines which is not very typical.

I have tried SS braided hose from 2 different sources for fuel with the same results.

Again, just throwing out some info... perhaps its hit/miss... as there are several diffrent SS hose manu's.

I live here in the "oven" during the summer... so perhaps my customers (with one in Vegas) have hot *** garages in the summer where the smell can become unbearable... especially when you equate a gas water heater in the garage. Trust me when I tell you there is no fuel leaks... whiff the hose and it wreaks of gas...

All I suggest is when you purchase hose that you VERIFY that it can hold petroleum distillates... not all braided hose is created equal...

I thought the DIY braided teflon hose was supposed to be available by now. Was told that only straight ends would be available though.

I had some custom lengths of -8 AN steel braided teflon made up by Harris Speed Works to get me to the engine compartment. They have some nice stuff with a colored clear coat as well. The precrimped is also straight ends only. Used synthetic in the engine compartment for DIY purposes. Will convert that to teflon if/when I start to smell fuel now that I have finalized the configuration of my underhood plumbing.

I dont have any issues with smell at all and it gets plenty hot here in the summer. We have several months of 90 - 100 + days here and I dont get any gas smell at all. I will head out and take a picture of it and try to get it posted.

I asked about that and they assured me they were good to go, so far, no issues. I'll PM you with the info if needed
