What’s everyone’s take or experience wrapping cast stainless turbo manifolds? I was told to not wrap cast stainless as it will crack, but it has sooooo much heat that it’s causing my intake temps to skyrocket (it’s coated too). Had tubular before (wrapped with dei titanium) that cracked and warped so much that was not worth fixing again, but it kept the temps down dramatically.

 

I have not wrapped my cast stainless turbo manifold, but wrapped the cross over and downpipe. Intake temps are 10 degree above ambient.

 

yes I have those wrapped as well as a blanket for the turbo. The engine bay in my truck (59’ GMC in pic) is like a tin can, Debating on removing more from inner fender for airflow.

 

Wrap it. I strongly disagree that wrapping a cast manifold will adversely affect its life.
I use at least two layers of dei lava wrap on all my turbo manifolds
