I don't know why I thought 6.0 Honestly it's the cam, heads, and the turbo that decide how much power your going to make anyway. Actually a 5.3L or smaller engine with the 243 heads might make just as much or more power than a 6.0L both running a 76mm turbo. That 76mm turbo will make 2~3psi more on the 5.3 and work more effeciently.

would it be a good idea to run stock 243's vs my stock 5.3 heads? kinda wanted to keep the motor stockish but i would definately run stock 243's if it was worth it.

Yes it would you will pick up 30+ CFM of airflow which is like doubble when boosted. You will make more power with less boost, and the lower CR will let you run a little more timing.

i have both ls6 heads and cam on my 5.3l. just heads alone felt awesome in and out of boost. the cam however really woke it up in boost. a no boost 2200rpm launch with 12ish psi during run gave me a 13.27 in my big hoe.

planning to run 317's, ls6 cam or maybe a custom cam still not sure yet and im leaning towards a borg warner s475 and get my 4000 stall shrunk down to a 3200. porbably leave my nitrous and run a small 50 shot just incase there is lag
