Anyone see any advantages to running a CAI box with a Magnacharger vs just using the Factory box with a drop in? I've got an Outlaw intake now, but may sell it if there is no advantage to running it.

 

I think BC got good results with a CAI. Sorry I don't remember which one or how much but a search might find it.

In the Jan05 issue of Chevy High Performance mag, they did an article on an SS with a Magnuson 112 blower with a 2.9" pulley


Stock box with a KN filter...13.26 at 99.94
Volant CAI.......................13.23 at 100.44
VaraRam..........................13.21 at 101.24

They "suggested" that there wasn't much to be gained with a $300-400 CAI on the blower

 

whatever you run DO NOT put a vararam on! They are cheap and not a well put together kit.

 

I thought the Outlaw what the "best" kit for the Maggies I would be interested in a test with that being the CAI used

 

I run an AIRAID CAI and got 17hp over the OE box with a drop in K&N. We did two pulls and then swapped the intakes. It took just a few minutes so she didn't cool much.

The AIRAID setup allows water to come in over the headlight and hit the filter muddying up the MAF if you don't mod for it. See in this thread.
