Hey guys, I have a 2003 Silverado Z71 Regular Cab/Short Bed getting a LQ4 short block with LS3 heads and a ZL1 blower going into it (along wits LS9 head gaskets, head studs, etc). The truck has factory 3.73 gears and 31" tall tires. At the minimum I am going to run a LS9 cam, but I am thinking about going with a BTR Stage 1 or Stage 2 blower cam instead.

This is my daily driver, tows my car trailer sometimes too. The truck is getting a built 4L80e transmission along with a 11" Circle D converter in the 2600-2800 stall range too.

I'll be honest, the stage 2 that I have is lazy at part throttle. It comes alive with more throttle and is really strong on top, but I think if I had it to do again I would have gone with something that had a bit more low end torque than the BTR cams made for PD blower cars.

What cam would you have gone with, hind sight 20/20?

Yea the stage 2 is a very aggressive cam with mild idle manners. It WILL hurt your bottom end power. It has VERY extreme valve events.
Stage 1 all day long in your truck that you tow wth. I'll even go a step further and say a custom grind would be better than that.
