Default Boosted LY6/LQ9/LQ4?

Ok question, I will slowly be building an LY6 for a big turbo setup on my 2013 Camaro ss, Didn't want to post on a 5th gen forum because they all thought I was crazy about doing a boosted 4.8/5.3L and most are all into flashy wheels anyways my plan was to just drop in a stock bottom end LY6 with a T88 on it of course with supporting fuel system etc..... I have been looking at Foose4.8's setup but would an LY6 be the way or go for an LQ9/LQ4? Goals? Well 800ish untill I do a TH400 or 4L80E then maybe in the 4 digit numbers. Throw me some ideas my way

well blowing up a 4.8 is alot cheaper to replace than a 6.0.... I would just be worried about it being a terd out of boost...

A 4.8L is not a bad idea, I will be tking my time on this and don't mine breaking off 1,500 or so or an iron 6.0L from a junkyard. I tried to quit the Boost game but I just can't give it up......

i would do a 6.0 they do take alot of beating, im running an LY6 on my turbo truck that smokeshow is not done with yet he has boosted it up till about 17psi the only problem we experienced recently was the oil pump, we replaced that and have oil pressure again. Its a stout engine and lighter than the iron block, not sure if your concerned about weight lol

Good to know! But isn't an LY6 an iron block? What size Turbo did you end up running?

Stock bottom end LQ4 on Pump gas with a S480 (race cast) You can get in the 4 digits on E85 with that setup with a very precise tune and a nice fuel system setup. I would do a 80e for street use even though lots of guys run TH400s on the street with no issues. Those Borg Warner turbos have proved great power over some of the top brand snails at a good a$$ price. I would recommend for you to get a custom grind cam from Martin @ Tick Performance for that setup on your SS. He has nice cams.

LOL I knew I've seen that sig before. Yeah I will be using E85 this time around. And will stick with an 80E. Hope by Spring I'll start gathering parts for this if not by Summer.

LOL... i think a LQ4 will be your best bet. You could always build your own from scratch
