can boost put hell on lifters? can it cause a lifter to collapse and tap? i thought i hurt my motor the other day but the tap went away for a bit. and i heard the noise before when the motor was cold then it went away when it warmed up. today it went away, i got into boost for a second and it came back. can dirty oil cause it?

 

I have same problem but motor has 150k. I look at puting new lifter back in and was around $300 in parts.

 

No boost here but i have 115,000 and get the lifter pecking on cold starts. After a fresh oil change it goes away for a few hundred miles then starts doin it again. I'm loosing coolant also and don't know where. Maybe that could be causing it . Don't know.

 

i think i'm pushing coolant out of my passenger side head. it has something all over it and my coolant level keeps droping
