I don't think it's a WG location problem, To many successful setups running that way. I think you have the same problem as Qwik had with his PT88 on the 4.8. With your new turbo, you have less back pressure. Waste gates are designed to use both back pressure and boost to open at a specific boost level, generally at a 1:1 ratio. You want it to open at 7psi, you need a 14lbs spring (7psi of BP and 7psi of boost to open it). With your new and bigger turbo, likely your back pressure is a couple lbs less and the now you don't have enough boost pressure to open at the same PSI. You likely just need a softer spring. Qwik had to use a 5psi spring to get it to open at 10 psi. Make since?

If the setup is correct you should only need a 7# spring to have it hold a steady 7#'s of boost even with a 1:1 PR.

But with the bigger Turbine housing and wheel, he might have less then a 1:1 ration. I have a 5.7 with MP t76 and a 38mm gate in the same location as his. I have no problem holding 135KPA with the muffler on it. I pull the muffler, and it goes out to about 144kPa. Reason, less back pressure. You want to test to see if your WG is to small, just pull the spring out and go drive it. If it makes any boost and it keeps climbing, then you have to small of a waste gate, but I'm gonna put money on it won't make hardly any boost at all.

also, how do you adjust a hobbs switch? my fuel pump comes on before boost comes on. i think it is set really low from sts. i have it on that little port on the turbo compressor. it screwed right in so thats where i put it. it was one less vacuum line to run.
