Default Boost Controller Preferences?

Any one ever had problems with a basic manual boost controller like this one? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NXS-M...ht_3903wt_1109

They've got a lot of good reviews... Heard plenty of stories about manual boost controllers not working as advertised, but none of them like this. This one honestly looks like something you could make from parts at ace hardware. For the price though it looks worth it because it would cost almost $20 just in hardware. I should get one to run in line with my quick spool valve and WG

I have no experience with the one listed, but i do have a different type of manual controller. I use it to make my 6lb spring put me at around 10 lb of boost, seems to work really good most of the time, but I believe it messes up sometimes because I have gone up around 12lb. Not sure what that really means, and yes i just have mine between the intake manifold and the waste-gate reference.

No, you do not need a quick spool valve... If you have 6lb spring, that boost controller won't get you to 15psi. The exhaust backpressure alone should push the WG open before it hits that boost level.

So would I need a heavier spring with that boost controller? Like a 8lb?

If you want the range to be able to go to 15psi, yeah.
