Unhappy Blown out EGR valve

I'm posting this here, because I feel its FI related because I think the turbo caused this.

I was sitting in traffic the other day and I smelt what I thought was a fuel leak. I pulled over and looked around, and nothing. I said it must've been the car next to me. Driving a little more I smell it again, but now it smells more like exhaust gas. It was to the point where I had to roll with the windows down. I noticed I had a lovely ticking noise and some KR that accompanied this new found smell.

Well as it turns out my EGR is leaking, but not from the gasket. Its leaking from the plate/flange right below the black cylinder. I hi-temp RTV'd the crap out of it yesterday, but by the time I made it to work and back it had blown it all out.

What do you guys think I should to do fix this? Just block it off? Weld it up, what? I think because of the added back pressure the turbo produces it just blew it out. I hate to say this, but JB Weld is sounding very appealing.

Just buy the block off plate from GM and throw the whole EGR assy away. The plate is only like 6 bucks.
Or buy another EGR assy. I'm sure some one in here has them laying around. I know I do.

I just deleted mine...you can have mine, just pay shipping. Although I'd feel bad sending you something that is designed to put exhaust gas in your intake. Delete it!

2000 GMC, and I already have a block off plate in the works. I just need to decide what material to use. How did you all block off the tube that goes into the intake?

Believe it or not, this is reaking havoc on my boost control. It seems to take forever to make boost now and then it just shoots up real fast when it does. Very unpredictable.

i took the plate that is on the tube and cut it off and ground it down smooth. with it like that you can bolt it to the intake but you will still have the hole. so what i did was traced that onto a piece of steel and cut it out and bolted them up together to the intake. i used some rtv in between the stock plate and my plate for no leaks.

Ther is a plug that is very cheap like 6 bucks that plugs the hole from G.M. I'll try to find the PN. the exhaust is the easiest. I have a plate for the exhaust if you need one.
