Well I already have my 10 rib kit from ATI (including idlers)...

I'm not worried about slippage...

as for the black finish over the polished... this is a POLISHED finished, not powder coated...

plus if you see the rest of my engine compartment you will know why i went with polished...

for the (hopefully) last time... I am NOT building a TRACK truck... even though every part is built and then some for a track... this is a show truck... magazines, garage queen, etc... that I can actually drive once and awhile (weekends, car shows)... this is no where near a daily driver... if I put a 1000 miles a year on this truck I will be surprised...

I have 2 other projects in the works that will meet or exceed this truck in cost and time too... I have a great job, love what I do, and make decent money at it, so what is so wrong with having custom vehicles? Hell Jay Leno has 100's of cars... there is nothing wrong with having some sweet rides...

anyways... here is another pic - brian came by my shop today and we test fit the SC...

pic -

We all know you're building a show truck.... Calm down big guy

I was just curious which type of polishing it was.... Thanks for the round about answer.... Some people like apples, some like oranges... Some people like polished blowers, some like black...
-for the record, I like apples AND oranges

I guess I did sound a little fustrated... my bad... I cant tell you how many people ask me -

"Why are you doing all that to a TRUCK??

it gets old... and I have seen a ton of trucks WAAAAY more extreme than mine... hell, look at Marks twin turbo denali (R.I.P.)... his truck was MY inspiration to my build, except I went SC, instead of turbo'd...

Yes... this was built on that premise... beating Z06's... which shouldnt be all that hard to do if i can get traction.
My mortgage broker has a mildly modded Z06 (along with a lambo gallardo) and we have a challenge... my truck vs either one of his cars...
on a closed airport runway... should be interesting, im more worried about his Z06 than his little lamb

Yeah, I don't know why anybody would do that to a truck...what a waste.

Just kidding man, you have a safe place here at pt.net where we all "do that" to trucks. No need to explain yourself around us. A 2300 (even if its pink) on a 427 speaks for itself.

I do have a build thread in the projects, but yea, my complete suspension is 100% Belltech - complete system, sways, drop, shocks, etc...
Im also running caltracs... but without a built 4 link, traction will always be a problem...
if I were to build a track truck, i would start with a rcsb and tub the rear...
