from Autoweek:
Supercharger / intake:
• GM patented integral design
• GM specific helical roots rotor set, cast aluminum case
• four integrated tubular (Laminova style) intercoolers
• displacement: 2.0 L / 122 ci
• 2.1:1 pulley ratio
• modulated by pass

HOLY ****!!!
The STS TIV was the brainchild of Jim Queen, GM vice president, Global Engineering and bolted together by the GM Performance Division Vehicle Development Center. Under the Carbon fiber hood and between the carbon fiber inner wheel houses sits an Eaton M122-supercharged, intercooled, LS2 V-8 that pumps out 505 hp at 5,600 rpm and 520 lb.ft. of torque at 3,600 rpm at 7 lb. of boost. The team chose the LS2 over the more performance oriented LS7 because the LS2’s less aggressive torque curve better suited the refinement felt necessary for a Cadillac. The engine is mated to a GM hydromatic 6L90E six-speed transmission, featuring Driver Shift Control, sequentially shifting gears with a tap up/tap down mechanism. The power is delivered to the rear wheels through a GKN electronic limited slip differential that can modulate its clutch between a fully open state to a fully locked state, receiving data via the LAN to provide different preloads for different driving conditions. The performance and handling mechanicals were shaken out at GM’s Milford Proving Grounds.

Intercooler technology
High-performance intercooler
technology from Laminova (an
Opcon company) increases system
effi ciency and power density.
Higher effi ciency reduces emissions
and increases power of a turbo or
super-charged combustion engine.
Similar aftercooler technology can
also be used for increased fuel-cell
effi ciency. The technology is based
upon an extruded fi nned aluminum
cooling core. The compact, robust
design aids integration of the
intercooler in the engine’s air-intake
manifold. The system provides benefi
ts for the fi nal product including
noise reduction, reduced pressure
drop, and improved fl ow characteristics.
Similar cooling core technology
is used for high-performance
oil coolers.

Thats almost enough to make me want to get a supercharger.
