You know you bring up a good point there. The stock stall is definately fine on my truck also. I mean a 1.84 60' with the stock stall.

It's just once you feel what a 1.84 60' feels like you want more.

 

I run a 2600 Fuddle. I like it. If I can get traction it launches hard. From a 20 roll it's alot of fun.

 

Stock converter here. I couldn't imagine needing anything looser unless you had a much bigger cam than I have. Your truck is heavier, but you,re running the stock cam. If I had to change the converter anyway, I'd opt for something HD with little or no additional stall speed. Mine will smoke the rubber all the way through 1st gear and quite a ways into 2nd. No need to go looser unless I was getting real serious at the track and adding more rubber.

 

I would say to keep stall speed stock or low with the instant-on torque of the Radix. You will just have more wheel spin and higher trans temps with a looser TC. Might want something built for FI though. Your truck is lighter than mine and I would now say that I probably didn't need to go to 2600. Unless you have more traction than I have in 4WD with stock tires.

 

I run a 3disc 10.5" PI stalled at 3000rpm,it works great the 2.48 first gear in my 4L80E.I have enough torque that I can roll into the throttle and hook on my street tires.If I just nail the gas it smokes the tires thru first into 2nd.

 

I thought you got a 3.3L Whipple....is it on yet?

I just ordered a 3 disc 10.5" 2400-2600 PI converter. It sounds like she will work great with what I am running. The converter that crapped out is a Yank tt2600, it just won't lock up anymore and I get a code (p0894) on the highway with it.. Thanks again,

Sounds good Billy. The only thing that I would have done different is I would have gone with a 2 disk convertor. I have seen people have trouble with the heat that a single disk can create.
