ok i saw at one time, some place, some how, someone had a kit that was made for 3rd gen motors.... .

the kit that saw was sitting on top of a 5.3 and came with fuel rails and all..... thing looked like a BAAAD BI*CH for sure


im looking on info on it and/or info where to snag the kit and price...

they may look cool but the old school straight lobe rotor blowers are horribly inefficient. they are power hogs and hot air blowers. plus i believe the desination 6-71 is for 6 cylinder engines

 

Yeah, 6 cylinders at 71 cubic inches each- 426 total!

 

While a 6/71 did come on 6cylinger detroits, it has more than enough capacity to grenade even a really big small block. They look damn impressive and are cheap if you have the patience to shop around. If you're not after the bling of a 6/71 sticking out of your hood, Edelbrock is marketing a magnuson 112 that will fit on pre LT1 small blocks. It mounts the carb on top like the 6/71 blowers, but isn't nearly as tall. Doesn't have the old school eye appeal, but it's a much more effecient blower. I dont understand why they don't offer the intercooled blower manifold on these older small blocks. Now that would be a sweet rig.

When I think of a blower, the 6/8-71's are what comes to mind. They may be inneficient but all the BIG BLOWN methanol fuelers are running them

Godd ol' Detroit Deisels!! Leak like a sob but never stop running. I used to run boats with engines from 1940's and the 6 cylinders just ran forever!

 

they're not as bad as they used to be; you can get them in high helix (120deg) as well as standard 60deg twist.

339 cubic inches per revolution sure would be nice

 

The current version of the screw blower used on the modern day Top Alcohol Dragster almost takes an engine hoist to lift.!!
