Default Any particular year best for boost?

I'm on the hunt for a rcsb 1500 to start building, I'm just curious if there is any year model that is best suited for adding boost? I've been looking at an 09 silverado with the 5.3 with 170k on the clock. Is this a good canidate for a turbo kit? I belive it has a 6L80, am I right? What will the trans need? Should I yank the motor and prep it with a cam or just add springs? I am just looking for a 550 to 600 rwhp truck, I'm going to drive it on the street and split DD duty with the 15. I appreciate any advise given! Thanks, Shields

They are all good for it!

Except the 15s and newer I think. Something about tuning ability isnt very good yet.

Personally I'd prefer an older truck from 02-07ish because the gen 3 computers are easier to work with in my eyes. Also they don't have DoD/AFM and thus less parts you have to swap out or buy. Only down side is having to swap in a 4L80e but in the end the cheaper cost of the truck makes it alright for haivng to buy another transmission.

I'm not opposed to an nbs truck. Just can't find a clean one that's realistically priced.

I'm torn after reading some more now between a trick performance turbo kit or a procharger kit. I want to DD this truck and make 500 whp. What would yall do?

For a good daily IMO, nbs, 4.8/5.3, s366 BW turbo and 10-12lbs, shift kit'ed 4l80e swapped and drive the snot out of it! lol Properly built and tuned and I'd drive it anywhere.

Thanks you for the info. Do you sell turbo kits? I'm not set on any my yet, still trying to take it all in. I hate doing things twice...

Yep, www.kbracing.net has some info. Also, truck in my sig is my personal truck and has been my experimental pig for the last 11 years, been through many setups! I drive this truck cross country all the time too. Not scared to take it anywhere.

I'm also working on my "toy" a 69 c-10 with a stock 5.3/th350 and BW S366 to see just how well this turbo plays with the smaller motors. I think is gonna be an awesome setup, just the right size for CI's and daily boost. They also make a Billet S369 that would be a bolt in that is supposed to support 900hp!
