Id say for decent power the turbo is cheaper once you figure in the headers, trick exh, and 8 rib drives to make the blower spit out 10 sec power. Also with traction limited 2wd excab the extra mph from a turbo will help the times more than traction wasting the low end of the blower away...

It is a street truck DD not a race truck and must be reliable as well. Yeah I know, fast + reliable = $$$
U think like I do, a reliable, fast DD. You're just goin more extreme than I will.

To the ground.

Since I've been away from PT for awhile, until the last month, I see somebody shot past the 10's & into the 9's!!!

So do u have the fastest on PT? U gotta be way up there.

Granted I just put on Radix, & not that I don't approve of its power, cause I do, but if I build another vehicle, or ever do FI again, it'll be turbo.8-
Greater ceiling of power, cause a person is more likely to run outta motor or driveline b4 runnin outta turbo. Plus, I have a few other reasons.

To me, a 4.8 Turbo w/. a 4L80E is a sweet combo of power & economy if I stay outta it I'd think, but don't want anything other than a stock stall so that leads me to think a 4.8T w/ 6spd. M is close to perfect. Anyone running somethin close to that on here? By chance, are they in low 11's, or 10's?

But I know Ted is goin for more killer than my idea.

No there are a cpl low 9 sec, and 8 sec trucks on here. Mine might be the quickest factory short block, or single power adder 4x4 tho not sure. Foose is knocking on the door of 9's with his 4.8L as well..

My boost only single turbo 76mm, 6.0L has been 9.73/139mph and a best of 140.8mph, on a factory short block. Not sure about a 4.8L M6.

The hardest problem with making big power with a PD blower is the blowers are so horribly inefficient! Ya, they make instant power, but according to KB's blower dyno, their 2.8l blower consumes about 150hp to pump 15psi of boost! Turbo's and centrifugal are WAY less then that, so your not having to make so much power that's not even get to the back of the crankshaft.

Yea, it showed 23 psi on the data log.

But that was to run the 10.40's. It actually went 10.90's on 14 psi with an out of the box procharger kit, including the stock pulley, stock tensioner etc.

The arguement that a turbo kit is cheaper than that, I might have to argue with. The turbo route certainly is not as friendly.
