I ran that style on turbo 4cyl cars running 28-32psi and never really had any oil in the can, along with no oil inside intercooler and piping. Even on my 188k mile stock bottom end. As long as there is baffling in front of the fittings coming out of the valve covers to prevent oil being sucked up, and baffling in the catch can the system does exactly what its intention is, to remove unwanted crank case pressure. I daily drove it for 3 years and no issues.

We could make a composite unit just not happy with the over all look, but if that is something the Truck Market would handle, we would do the tooling on them and get them done.
Thats cool. I've been running 2 1qt billet pieces but I forget what brand. -12 off each valve cover to them. I'll be selling these as they are too heavy.

You can see it in this pic tucked over on the left. There is another one on the other side of the truck in the same spot but I can't find a pic of it.

Thats cool, but this is not a 4cyl. The LS engines are known to have a bad PCV design and oil ingestion issues even in stock form.

Wait, these aren't 4cyl's? Lol, I'm aware of LS's PCV's system. Old DSM 4G63's were the same way. Closed systems work. If you are still ingesting oil then the separation system needs to be improved, better baffling/filters, or even run two cans. I just feel that hi boosted applications venting to the atmosphere through a filter does not evacuate crank case pressure fast enough but I don't have any hard data to back it up. It would be interesting to plumb a pressure gauge to measure crank case pressure on a closed loop and open loop system. LSA CTS-V's have a closed loop system from the factory, all that's needed is a catch can/separator and seems to work fine. Just my two cents.

I'm setting up my 80mm 370 setup with two -10 lines to a separator then routed back to the intake. If it's ingesting oil then I'll change the setup.

That will not work
Way to large of a vacuum leak.
And boost will travel back through and out.

Any time you are using intake to pull vacuum it has to have a check valve and can only be so big.

I planned on running check valves.

I have a feeling that you're not gonna be able to convince that dude of anything.

It's guys with that attitude who get stuff done when they hear "it can't be done".

Unfortunately his ideas have been thoroughly tested, he won't listen, and he has yet to come up with something that hasn't been tried.

Is it me or is the catch can topic being discussed like it is a brand new concept? Seems like here and ls1tech are full of catch can threads all of the sudden.
