Smokeshow did his with a remote STS style turbo, but his was sequential, as soon as the turbo spooled, he opened the by-pass on the blower, so he was just flowing though it with turbo air and not doing any compressing.

Compounding works ok, but you loose some of the lower end of just a PD blower and also loose some of the top end of just a turbo. If your maxed out on the boost you can run with just the PD blower, then this is the only way to make more boost. Its cool, but if your looking for more power, spray works better.

Just try it out. If anything, it'll be a learning experience.

Sure! Isn't it built? I know its over kill but I'd run it. I also figured since it is almost 500CI he will need the extra flow. We are just about finished building a twin 76mm kit on my roommates LS1 Camaro and I'm sure he won't push them to the Max but its all he will ever need

A pair 80's on a 496 is still WAY over kill so is 76's on a ls1 You really gotta size turbos by the power you want to get out of the overall combination. Your talking about turbo kits that will support 1700 and 1500hp respectively. That's WAY to much! It gonna take a month to spool them! You'd better have teeny tinny hot sides on them,

Even your setup, twin 76's on a 346 is like a single 76 on a 173 4 banger... Would you do that for a DD??? I wouldn't. Your buddies car would be WAY better off with a pair of 60's You'll see what I mean when he gets it running, been there, done that!

the turbines on the 76's are 60mm and I know what you mean sizing to the desired hp, Im a newb but not that new. The twin 80mm comment was more of a just do big twins suggestion. And the camaro is not a daily driver, it actually gets driven maybe 300 miles a year and that includes tuning and the track. He's confident that he can spool them, They are 60mm turbines with .81 a/r housings and he revs it to 7500 so he should be able to spool them just fine. Yes we both know they are a bit overkill and I wouldnt have done them but that car will be in the 9s pretty easily with the stock ls1 and built T56
