Default vvt!

I got it working. The vvt just needs to be set open after you clock it where you want it. Tap the guide pin down move the vain plate where you want it and leave it. No reason to try to hook up the solenoid. The thing works great. Starts spooling at 1800 to 1900 rpms. Ill pull the pics off the camera and get them up asap.

I have one of these turbos in the garage. Post your pics so we can see how you moved the vane plate. How did you decide where to set the plate? How well does the turbo work on your 5.3L?

hugger.... unfortantly I forgot to take pics of that. But all i did was move the vains to full open postion. and left it alone. when i clocked the turbo(u'll c those pics) is when I moved the vains. just don't worry about hooking up the power to the solenoid. I have a 38mm wastegate set to 8lbs. The turbo works great. It starts to spool at about 1800 to 2000 rpms. great power.

Would that turbo not run out of steam on a gas motor because they rev so much higher? I didn't know and was curious

Sargie26,

Is this a remote mount setup or do you have it mounted in the engine compartment? Where did you find all the flanges to adapt the powerstroke turbo to the piping you used? How did you connect the oiling to the turbo? I really want to see pictures of the whole setup. How much money do you have tied up in the parts to make all this work?
