4HI. You will probably break something if you launched in autotrac and lost traction.

If you tried autotrac it would spin the back tires then slam the front end in and probably break something.

Yeah, I never hit it real hard in autotrac from a start. The autotrac seems to work ok in the rain and snow.

I haven't tried shifting out of 4WD under WOT yet.

It seems like the Autotrac t-cases will shift out of 4-hi at WOT, but I've never heard of anyone with the manual t-case that was able to get it to shift out at WOT. I know for a fact mine doesn't.

Paco is a pretty well known name around here and his truck is bada$$. Look up streetside performance.

Paco's truck is nice. I love the stagger rims on a 4wd.

I always launch in 4Hi as well and never autotrac. I do use it in the rain like you said though.

I would be afraid to try shifting my during a run as well. Mine however is a manual lever on the floor. I don't think it would shift out of four. I also think I would leave a mess on the track if I tried.

I've done it many times in my 2004 CTD Dodge Ram with no trouble at all. I've only done it a few times in my 2002 Silverado but it doesn't have any real power. I'll be turboing it sometime soon, so I'll let everybody know how that goes when I do.
