408 Turbo Build
#1
About to purchase a 408 Nitrous truck. It had 11:1 compression is that too high to turbo?
I've been talking with a few tuners and they recommend me doing a piston swap to lower compression before I turbo it.
Any advice?

You have just posted something that would be impossible to get a decent response to.
What is the purpose of the truck? What fuel are you planning on using? A 408 ls motor can be built out of anything from a stock 6.0 block all the way to a Dart billet aluminum block.....the most problematic issue when running LS stuff is keeping the cylinder head sealed up.
My questions are barely even scratching the surface regarding info you need to know to make this decision.

I ran an 11:1 408 with a tvs1900 before, and it was a torque monster and very fun to drive although. Not a great track performer but probably the most fun combo I have had. The little blower only made 6-7psi of boost, which is about the most I would recommend at that compression and pump gas.

E85 would help some, but what are your plans with this truck? As it is would be fine for a strong daily driver but if you want a race truck that you want to run on pump gas with a turbo then yea you need to lower it. Right now though if you aren't stuck on a turbo just throw on a 150hp nitrous kit and let it eat.
