Default 4.8 twin turbo help

I have the 2006 silverado 2wd in the sig..... ecsb.... I have an eaton to put in... im keeping the 3.73s now i am gathering parts to make a twin turbo setup...

I am planning on making my own turbo headers.... i just want to know if any of you have turbocharged a stock 4.8??

how much can it handle?

what size turbos would be quick to spool and also handle up to 450-500 rwhp?

how much would the stock bottom end handle?

Iknow the 60E probably will not last long if at all.... I work at GM so ill just get a 4L70

but I want to know what can i do or what have you done?

you are going to want 2 SMALL turbos. like 38mm small. Also you are going to need a small cam, head work, tranny upgrades and some fuel upgrades. Putting a turbo (or 2) on a 4.8 can and will work..............but you need to run a good amount of boost to make any power. And you wont beable to run that much boost with a stock CR 4.8.

Wheel to Wheel put a single Garrett and intercooler on a 4.8

Stock it made 285 HP at 5,600 and blown, made 542 HP at 5,100 (on an engine dyno) It was bone stock, except for 42 lb/hr injectors and the FP regulator set up to 80 psi. Boost 8 psi. They did say that the "fuse is much shorter at those power levels" vs a motor built to handle boost.

I think Parish even did a 4.8 just to see how much boost it would take to "blow it up" There was some videos of it on one of the video sites.

You'll also have difficulty with the 4L70 and this power. I'd step up to an FLT level 5 or a Monster Mega 4L65E trans for about the same money as a stock 4l70E

I dont think they amade that power on only 8psi. The 4.8 doesnt wake up till about 10# of boost. I would love to see a graph for that.

Yeah but that wasn't a stock engine though was it? I agree with 10psi though. That's where mine is and it seemed to be happy there. It's seen better days now, thanks to the good old truck intake manifold, but nevertheless, fuel, and tranny will need to be addressed.

You'll probably see around 400-425rwhp with 10psi with a turbo friendly cam, and IC and/or meth and a stock long block.

Ya, I'd like some more info on that as well, I have a cam, intercooler, meth, and a damn good tune and on 10psi, I'm about a 100 shy of that at the wheels. I figure I would need about 16-18 psi to get 500 at the wheels.

there could be a few factors with that. turbo size, heads, many things. i think it could be done. but i am far from a turbo expert.
