Default 4.3l Turbo Question

Well Ive got a 5.3l RCSB silverado as a daily but after thinking it over it seems more cost effective and less risky to boost my bagged beater S10.

Its a 2000 with the 4.3l 5spd. Ill be building the headers myself, running an intercooler and will suppliment fuel with a pair of extra injectors, still undecided on tuning.

Ive done some searching and can seem to find much info about the size of the turbo I should run for a front mount. I know alot of guys on here are godlike with turbos so I figured this the best place to ask.

Thanks

Thanks for the links, yeah i know about s10forum...been a member there for over four years....mostly just lurk because like you said....90% of the members are there to just flame others.....there is a nice buildup over there of a front mount turbo that ill be following but i cant seem to find what size turbo I need. Its just a little confusing to me, I understand the build and tuning aspect but not turbo size

Look at my S/C that I'm building I hope to have it running by Jan and if all goes as planned I'll be selling them by Feb. It's gonna be a kit like a Maggie, it should rock.

here is how i learned how to choose turbo for gas engines. i read all three sction and can figure out what would get me really close
http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbob...ch_center.html

you could go smaller but i did the leg work to TT my 305 to about ~500fwhp
and to do that i would need two of these GT3071s
http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbob..._700382_20.htm

off hand gues running a single gt37 would put you ~300-350 if you maxed the turbo out around ~35psi spool would be really good tho

just my .02cents

i would definitely check the syty forum over the S10 forum. most of the guys on the S10 forum are ******* retards, and shouldnt be looked to for helpful advice. a stock turbo on a syty is a little smaller than a mitsu style 20g. a large t3/t4 would work pretty well. if you want, you can even buy aftermarket headers for a syclone, and use them on your truck. or, if you can find them, a set of stock syty manifolds. beware though, the syty guys think they are made of solid gold. good luck!

Come on now....we're not that bad....lol. And I've seen the manifolds go for as little as 200 and as much as 400.
