Nice, guss my **** theory went out the window

Wonder what the gains would be between full 3" downpipe/exhaust and 4" downpipe/exhaust

i didn't read this entire thread.

my experience is anything you can do to get bigger or shorter exhaust will help a turbo. the best set up you could have is a 4" dp as short as it can be with no exhaust. i dont think you could get anything bigger then that to fit.

steping up to a 4" exhaust after a 3" dp will help. depending on the muffler and how long and strait the exhaust is and how hard you are pushing things i could see it add anywhere from 5hp to 60hp.

I agree. The solstice turbo guys, are adding a 3" exhaust system and LOOSING PSI but picking up a good handful of power. We all know it's not about PSI but about airflow. Keep us posted..

this is exactly what i did...went as far up the down pipe as i could with a 4" pipe...put the 4" diesel after cat magnaflow together and welded it up...
it is bad ***...i can tell i gained more power but it is running leaner...

I just did this too... Feels much stronger, but to loud for me, so I ordered a Magnaflow 4" in/out, 30" long case Diesel muffler like I put on Mikes truck

The kit I bought, I got from ebay for $310 shipped. I should have just built my own since it didn't come with the muffler I wanted . It does feel a bit stronger, but I'm only running around on 7 psi right now, just trying to limp this wounded motor along... thats why I took it to the track last night, Good for a hand full of 13.6-13.7, in the hot *** AZ night air. lol

I'm putting this muffler on and gona re-do the tail pipe like I did on Mikes truck. I really like how his came out and sounds I just need to get a 4" ss elbow.

mines 3 inch back to a 4inch magnaflow 30 inch case and dumped. The exhaust shop couldnt bend any 4 inch and didnt have any d max stuff. I think i found some d max exhaust tonight tho. I did lose a little over my 3 inch downpipe that stopped at the crossover, but I think that was kinda expected.

And who takes a head lifted motor to the track and runs 13's. Damn u....
