2000 chevy 5.3 help
#1
Hey guys I have a 2000 5.3l 1500 and I'm looking to put some from of forced induction on it. I was something that won't break my bank and keep my stock trans alive. If someone could tell me what direction to go that would be great. Also a kit that come with everything I need would be good so I don't have to worry about anything after I install.
I'm not looking for the most power I just want a Simi cheap and reliable system that I still use the truck as a daily driver.

i'm not sure they make a semi-cheap forced induction kit. you might be able to get something small for about $3000. As for your tranny, they can break with a stock motor. 4L60E is a hit and miss thing, some are good and some suck. Good Luck!!

Try reading this first, you will probably answer most of your questions yourself. Your gonna spend a pretty fair amount on the kit, but supporting mods such as a tranny will add up quick too. Your going to need a built tranny no matter what type of FI you choose. What mods does your truck have now?
