Default 2.9L whipple owners...oem foam /rubber under manifold??

I'm in the middle of a whipple install at the moment. The foam/rubber insulator under OEM manifold doesn't fit under the whipple manifold, unless I'm a total idiot (which could be the case).

I've read that it kills some noise, possibly some knock?

Any thoughts on this?

thanks in advance

Took mine out. Didn't look like it would fit.

You don't need it. It just keeps crap out from under the stock intake.

Sweet! I'm still loving mine but too busy driving it right now to do a thing. Be glad when AC season is over. I'm exhausted!
