You must have a longbed tank.

In my halfton, 3/4 tank is about 19 gallons, a 1/4 tank is about 7 gallons. At 6.25lbs per gallon, sounds like around an extra 75lbs. Still a lot extra weight to run plus it's unstable at launch so it really doesn't help you hook up. Looking at your ET's, it doesn't really seem to be slowing you down all that much.

I know how you feel. When I used to race my old '73 455 trans am (11.03 @131), the track was out in the boondocks so I'd have to have about 3/4 a tank of gas at the last gas station so I could make it back home if I went more than 4 or 5 rounds (not that often unfortunately...).

When your 60' starts getting into the 1.4's with the pumps located in the front center portion of a long skinny tank all the fuel goes to the back. I can't nail my truck even from a roll with less than 1/2 tank. It sucks. Same thing happens with car's with carbs, they need jet extentions to keep the rear jets in the fuel.

Yes I drive to the track too, and controling fuel level is a pain. Tank on a short bed is 26gal. My math was wrong and I used the weight of water @8lbs a gallon, and didn't subtract the 1/4 tank from the equation looks like Im only carring an extra 85 lbs if I take a really big before I race However sometimes times I race with over 3/4 tank when I add race gas at the track.

I'd have to do the same. Otherwise at 9.65's, I'd be dropping a bomb DURING the pass.

Ever consider a small surge tank?

lol It really doesn't feel that much different than the 10 sec passes just doesn't level off as quick. It has so much drag from the 4wd and slicks at those speeds you hardly even touch the brakes to slow down.

Yes thats a good idea, just haven't had time to mess with it lately.

Yeah that's what I thought. Man that really does suck. After I do some initial testing with my 70mm turbo I'll upgrade to a built 370 and an 88mm turbo. I can't remember, is yours t4 or t6? I guess I could do a search real quick. lol. I don't see my truck running anywhere near as fast as yours, but I believe I'm going to be having the same problems you are.

Thanks man. Not trying to jack your thread or anything, but figured since we're all in here I'll just ask my questions here instead of starting a new thread. lol. This one has been very informative for me already. I know I have a hemi, but I come here when I want to learn more about the performance side of everything. LOL
Ok, my setup (hemi) is going to be very close to stock48's. Mine is just going to be a forged 370 based off of the 5.7 block with a 3.8 stroke and stock bore. It'll be a front mount setup with a t4 pt88. The heads are just going to be mildly ported and it will either have the stock truck intake or maybe the 5.7 car intake. My question is about the two cam's I'm trying to decide on. The first one is what I thought would be good for a 370 (before really reading all about his setup) and the second one is smaller, more alike to stock48's sizing of a cam for his 370. Actually, I'll probably get more views in a new thread, but you guys tell me what you think.
First cam: 224/222 557/549 114LSA
Second cam: 216/214 560/565 114LSA

I would really suggest starting your own thread with questions, you will get answers more directly applicable to you and your questions will be more visible to everyone else.
