Default Ran @ NED tonight

would have made a post saying I was going but I decidied to on a whim anyhow. It was my first time ever at a track but I ran into a few guys who were regulars who were nice enough to give me some tips on launching and such. My best run (amazingly my very first run) was a 16.655@82.95. Nothing to brag about but like I said it was my first time there and I had a blast even though every time I got beat lol.

Way cool! I was nervous as heck the first time but got the bug, so to speak.
Now you've got your base times you can start improving them!

it was pretty hopping, there were also bikes, sleds and some cars that definitely weren't street cars that also ran in their own groups while I waited. My first run was with a late model Mustang GT (not new style), my second was against a 80s K30 Dually with a 454 and he beat me, but not by as much as I thought he would (he ran a 16.255@84.36, I ran 16.688@82.93) my third was against a mid 90s Civic he ran about a second and a half quicker and the last was no contest, a old Nova that ran an 11.6@117. At least I did a better burnout.

That's not bad at all. It may or may not get quicker if you change nothing, but learning how to race it is about as important as making it run better. If you're feeling bad about the ET, don't. I took the 99 F-250 out once, just to see... It only ran 16.61@83. Granted, it's heavier than your truck, but it also had a 5.4L in it. No more power(maybe less), but much more torque. You've got a base to work with. Have fun.

yeah its gonna be a bit before I have cash to make this thing wake up, winter isn't a good time at work so I gotta pinch pennies for a bit. Like I said I had nothing going on last night and figured "what the hell, see what it can do". Yeah it was slow, but it was a bunch of fun to blast down the track, I even got a few pics taken of me so I'm gonna keep my eyes peeled for those popping up online. Like I said most of the people there were real cool and quick to offer advice since I was totally green to this. And there were some nice cars and trucks there last night! My favorite was one of the guys I talked to had a low 14s diesel super duty (work in progress he said) ran against a newer (but previous bodystyle) SI civic driven by some sideways hat wearing punk who thought he was hot ****. It was the best thing ever to see a truck that could carry his car in it's bed absolutely blow his doors off!
