Yes. Stall converters Slip more which will make less power at the wheels.
IIRRC he was stock stall, Stock Wheels, 4:11, CAI

Yea third gear and locked. If yours wasnt locked maybe thats the diff?

He had the Circle D 3c.
Mine was 2nd unlocked but in 3rd unlocked i did do 320/341 when I ran the 1/4
I didn't want to lock the 278mm base model Circle D.
