This is a pretty extreme build for those numbers...

crank it to 10# and you should see 500 very easy. I'm surprised you didn't go with more cam on such a big motor with such a large blower.

Solid numbers at 7.5#.

What water pump did you use?

It was purpose built with the power band in the lower rpms for towing, torque & fuel mileage, not big numbers. It would be more apparent if the graph started at 2k rpm. It is not extreme at all with the small cam, stock heads, 7.5 boost, etc. I don't consider the SC big at all. It was picked for getting boost down low and not over spin at higher rpms which causes excess intake air heat. The "extreme" that was put into the motor was for reliability. HP is cheap. Bullet proof is expensive.

The torque at low rpm is massive despite the 33 inch tires, 4x4 and Dana 60 and being a 6,400 2500 Suburban. If you drove it you would understand that numbers don't tell everything. It's a ten on the buttometer. LOL

I used the 2010+ Camaro pump because the truck pump upper hose interferes with the tensioner. The only downside is that the upper hose is on the inside of the belt. So to do a belt swap, you have to break the cooling system.

I know this is an old thread... but I came across this pic on Tech and I wanted to get more specifics on how you modified your PS and Alt bracket. I see a pretty interesting little bracket for the Alt that I like!

I wonder if you could fit an LS2 TB on there... it would be close.

The LPE maf flows allot, for his lower boost levels it would be preferred in my eyes.

Yeah I've read they flow a lot , and I agree at lower boost sure it's great .

But when you look at that big *** huffer one tends to get excited and think about big boost , more than i would think a MAF would be ideal for . But I am no tuner .

cool build! and solid numbers...

any particular reason you went with the 4" crank instead of a 4.1?

Here is some information about the modified bracket in another thread: HERE

Here is a current picture of the TB I am running now since I put the engine in my DBW 2003 Suburban:

Why? I use my truck as an expedition vehicle and can be below sea level in the Imperial Valley or 7,000 ft up in the Sierras. SD would suck.

Better piston selection and I didn't want the wrist pin too far up into the ring grooves.

BTW, I am at 10 lb.s of boost now. Did a run at ZMax and did a 60 ft time of 2.120 with a slow RT of .317. Not bad for getting the Titanic moving.
