Default Stock 4.8 LR4 dyno

Finally getting around to taking a customers truck to dyno tomorrow.
bone stock 175k mile 4.8 on 87 octane and stock tune then modified tune.

interested to see stock numbers since I've never been able to get one these on the dyno.
I'll even be able to get the Hp/Tq at 70mph to see how it compares to the 5.3 and 6.0s.

Aren't they only rated around 15 Hp less?

My 00 5.3L Bone stock with around 120K Miles was 240HP at the wheels on a Mustang Dyno around 100 feet above sea level.

I believe it was a DTS we had it on before that and it claimed 259 HP at the wheels... This is why I had it re dyno elsewhere.

Neither shop lasted too long though. I don't believe I have a copy as it's been so long.

Yea they weren't much less than the 5.3. Just finished a L76 with 223/232 cam and it ran out of fuel pump at 4000rpms.So did all i could till pressure started dropping. 2000 rpms with converter locked it made 292ft/lb and 122hp. It didn't care if timing was 20 or 26* and afr from 13.7 to 11.6 power didn't budge. I do know testing for this kinda stuff is way easier on a holley ECU and a couple switchs to change timing and fueling instantly. the lil 4.8 is next.

Played with the tune for awhile and best I could get was 218hp/231tq. peak power was at 5500 and peak tq was at 4000. tried everything and all I could get at 2000 rpms was 220tq and 90hp.kinda surprised at the torque curve. started the pulls at 1700 rpms and it had 190tq only rising to 231 at 4000 and falling off to 180tq at 6100.

I messed up and didnt save the stock runs.
218/231 was stock everything with some tuning done. But that was 2nd gear and converter locked. In theory it should have been 227-228hp in 3rd. So thats pretty close.
