thanks for the link. Can someone please explain to me the difference in dynos being used? I have operated a superflow dyno. It required you to input gear ratio and tire diameter. Whats the difference between it and the dynos everyone else is using? thanks

I know that gear ratio and tire diameter are used to correct the speedo

theres a lack of info to really say how much each person will lose
i put down 258/265, who has 350/360 on stock wheels stock LQ4?????

its obvious that you WILL lose power when you goto a taller tire, same with a heavier tire

I doubt that thread was suppose to be an END ALL post on how much bigger tires rob HP to the wheels. Any extra rotating mass will take up HP/TQ. I am pretty sure it was just to show a single case difference per Dyno results.

yeah i figured that, but if youre gonna make the comparison we need all the info possible
there will never be an end all to the topic cause of the number of variables

I guess everyone will have diff results, I was asking this because I dyno my truck on Monday with the 28s and got 375whp/421tq ,the rims and tire are 103 lbs. I will try to get some stocks and go dyno it again next to see what's the diff . I got a pic of the dyno sheet on my album it show that it cuts bad after like 110mph.

theres a video on youtube, some guy showed his ecsb with 33" mud tires vs a 30" stock tire i think and there was roughly 40-50 wrhp margin between them

I think it is a matter of the hp you are making too. When Steve made 681 to the tires through 20's with 35's on them I would have to guess he would have been making 710 at the most with smaller tires.

I think it would be the opposite and more like a percentage. Say you are making 250 with big wheels, then you should make around 300 with normal size tires. By that same percentage, if you put down 650 I would think you would be around 780
