2003 Z06 - 385hp/373tq
Made it down to the dyno with my dad's '03 Z06. Stock it pulled 352/344 and the new numbers are 385/373. You can view the graphs below and see the 20+TQ gains at just 2600-rpm. Not bad.
What was added: LG long tube headers, removed cats, FAST intake, 90mm TB, tuning w/ WB
The FAST intake, despite it's price is only good for about 10HP from what I've heard (unported) and that's on a H/C setup. Right now, there's no telling if it's helping, hurting, or probably doing nothing.
Tuning was interesting. Started out with 26* of timing across the board, and 13.0 AF. Made 380/368. Increased timing to 30*. Lost power and saw 4* of knock. Made it's most power with 22* of timing and 12.5 A/F. Almost what we would call conservative, but it's just what it likes. These were all back to back pulls.
Each time the A/F was dropped a tenth, a HP or two was found. I'd like to have gone a bit more rich down low and around peak torque, but it was getting really hard to increase PE. The injectors are at 93% DC, so this may be why.
Removing the air box off of the filter is good for a 10hp increase on the dyno. Some have seen 16. Being the bench racer I am, I think this motor has 400 to the wheels as it sits had we done the air box removal and let the motor cool. Good news because the new AFR 225 heads, 224/224-109 cam, and asp pulley ought to put us up above 450rwhp...

We love our LS6 motor combo! They are so strong out of the box and can really make some huge numbers with bolt-ons only! No need to open that bad boy up! Try to talk him into boost, he will thank you for it later!
