As stated before the newer 5.3 2007+ has larger intake, throttle body, no air injection and no EGR.

They have different intake/heads= i believe more comp. also egr and air hasnt been on them since around 01or02, sometime around there..

243/799 heads
flat top pistons so in turn higher compression
90mm intake but chocked down by a stock 87mm

is that through a stock air tube or a CAI?
stock stall?
what LSA on that 224/230? i figure that cam would be too big for the lil 5.3 considering i see people running 220 an smaller.

it's through a CAI and stock stall... LSA is a 114... I love how the Torque doesn't drop under 300 till it redlines

The new 5.3's have flat top pistons but they also went from 61cc heads (most 99-06) to 64cc on the new (07 up) 243/799 heads. So in all reality, they did not gain any compression.

Dam I just bought me a similar cam, I'm gunna get headers and intake too, then i'll try dyno'n it too and we'll see the difference in the new 5.3's and the old ones.

The 2010 5.3L have VVT! Nice to see how VVT would help the numbers!
