Talking transmission longevity

it has been said that the trans in the late model fords will not handle certain performance aspects. that it is very bad to floor it in OD to go around someone. that the 4r70 and 4r75 have a tendency to bang gears when a downshift from OD to second gear is commanded. has anyone experience this?

I know the second gear clutches don't like it. IIRC, stock Ford programing has a TQ reduction built into the 1-2 shift at WOT, but it's not there for a OD-2 shift.

Even if that's not the case, yeah, anytime you drop down gears that hard it's not easy on the clutches.
