Roll at 35mph and drop the hammer. It should drop down into first gear. At least my truck does. See if you can get him to take that race.

 

A almost stock ss or ws6 will take most 12 sec trucks from a 40mph roll by 95-100MPH. Even if you trap the same MPH @ the track the car will gain alot more MPH than you from 45 mph on. You may jump the car at 1st but it will real you back in fast. Especially a late modle F body or vette. They are just too arrowdynamic. You have to race em from a dig. An arrow dynamic car beating a truck from a roll proves NOTHING. Ask em do they race from a roll at the drags?

 

This is a typical car truck race. My 70K20 4x4(@5000' elevation) against a Gen 3 camaro with a 13:1 406. I beat him all nite long at the track. But on the street from 45-50mph he murders me.

Well this is what is weird......my truck will run to 45-50mph from a dig in 1st gear and then shift into 2nd. But from a punch, the PCM just didn't allow it for some reason. I will meet up with him this weekend and see if he will race me from like 30mph. I don't mind loosing but not by 15-20 car lengths. I have a video of the race and I'm trying to download it. A buddy of mine has it so I will get it on here soon.

Yea thats what I used to hate about racing my old truck from and roll and loved about racing my old car from a roll. I was trapping 118-119mph cam-only and full weight.
