What to buy???
#1
Looking to buy a newer truck. My goal is to break into the 11's...
Rules of the game:
1. Any make. I don't care Ford, Dodge, GM, Toyota, Nissan
2. It MUST be a full 4door cab, no extended cabs or double cabs...I have three teenagers
3. Has to still be able to fulfill normal truck duties, daily driving, and family trips. So no dedicated drag setups
4. Turbo or Supercharger
5. 2010 or newer
6. Under 50k miles
7. The hard part...max budget is $30,000-35,000 thousand
Not a huge GM fan simply based upon the fact that there are so many running around. I like to be a little different...although I'm not apposed to a Sierra Denali (would have to go older to stay on budget for this one, but not past 07).
So which platform would be the best? I know any 4L60 will have to be rebuilt, so that bothers me and the budget. Is it the same way with other platforms?
thanks
PP

Not sure about cost but I understand that the Ford diesels don't need a tranny rebuild and they can easily be made to run hard. I bought a Duramax cause I'm diehard Chevy and I think it was a mistake. So I went back to an ls truck. Allisons aren't strong stock and neither is the converter. 5-6k investment.
