This run was my 6.0 with a TR224 cam, tight 3000 converter, and bald 35's. This run was in 2wd with very little spinning off the line.
60' - 2.065
1/4 - 14.005
MPH - 95.10

Added Patriot Stage 2.5 243's, 37's, and ran in 4wd...
60'-------1.98
1/4------13.786
mph------97.91

So if your new heads/intake and tune can make your trap 4-5mph higher and you launch with a 1.9-2.0 sixty, you should be close to 13's. At least in my opinion...

Custom must've gotten embarrassed a time or two by a NA 4.8, yes bigger cubes or boost is the way to go but some of us just like saying yes, you just got smoked. And its only a 4.8

justin both got some good times on the 35s and on the runs with the 37s, just like jonathan said im curious to see what shed do on a smaller tire. all that rolling mass and 13.7s is definitley booking it. and i think im going to give it a shot with the 4.8, have one of the best ls tuners about an hour away from here so well see what happens. and 04 hall i feel ya on that one man the look on peoples faces are priceless...then again when you get asked if thats a v6 you give off a pretty stupid look too lol

Funny you guys mention that. Went 13.3 at 99 with a 1.81 sixty after I swapped to a 3600 converter. Put on small tires(31" BFG's) along with the converter being tightened up to 3400 and it went 13.0 at 101 with a 1.74 sixty. The aerodynamics hold it back big time, that and the mail-order tune.

There you go TJ, drop the 6.0 in it and make your goal a 12.9 instead of 13.9 haha

Only way that happens is if they are boosted. Simple as that.

You said you went to 4wd so that is the tiny help in the 60. Also the heads won't make as much of a difference on the 4.8 generally so the power you gained will be less for him. So you dropped .214 and we will give all the credit to the heads to help your side of the argument and make up for the tire size difference. I bet he will be lucky to drop .2 from the heads and chances are it less.

p.s. 13.7 on 37" rubber isn't bad.

justin its definitley tempting man, 450 for the longblock...cant decide which way to go lol. working two jobs so im bringing in money fairly quick and one job being tnt racing engines...have a feeling that 6.0 would become a 370 fairly quick. but thats definitley a huge difference in times just by the rubber change. figured since ive now got the 4k conv (if i kept the 4.8) id probably go torquer v2 with the prc's, slap the intake mani on and get a live dyno tune. if i did run 4wd i feel i could knock off quite a bit of time considering no matter what i did i blew the tires off. not to jack my own thread but from your mail in tune to a live one was there a pretty significant difference?

custm2500 george(ltrrider450) had a cam close in spec with mine, prc stg 2.5's tbss intake mani and was running 13.1's. i know he was 2wd, didnt have the mass i do and has a 5.3 but there cant be that huge of a difference. and not to start drama but that comment about them being boosted fersure aint true even with how my truck sits now ive embarrased quite a few cars on the streets, and have come back with some coin from some runs made in "mexico"

I agree you have a good running truck for what it is. The thing is people think they have a quick car that runs 15s. I lost one of 5 races on the street in the HD when it was running 14.2. That one was only by a truck length to a 6.0 ford with a decent amount done.

Good news is I was basically stock. Small 2800 converter, custom tune, and no muffler. You are nearly modded to the max and running similar times. Obviously nitrous is quick and easy and if you want impress people with a 4.8 is your quickest and best bet. Outside of nitrous you can't get any faster(after the heads) and have a lot of time and money rapped up trying to show how fast your 4.8 is . I enjoyed beating mustangs and the other few things I raced but I was smart enough to know I wasn't beating anything respectable running low 14s.

Never ran the bottle on the street but mid 13s(13.4 to be exact) is fast for a street car or truck around here. On nitrous I am guessing there is only 10 or so street cars in my area that I couldn't wax. Still isn't amazing but nearly stock with a 100 shot running the times you are dreaming of modded to the max. Anywhere besides the street in Toledo Ohio(or your small town) and mid 13s won't be beating much of anything in a race.

No need to keep beating a dead horse. I have explained my side in about every way possible and you feel you have a valid argument the other way. If you are having fun that is what matters most. The thing I am trying to help you avoid is getting the truck done and jumping into the ring and getting your *** kicked. Then realizing you just dumped all this money into the truck and everything you call out or run next to at the track beats you to the stripe.
