Yea I messed up and put 2 much money in my 4.8 and only 14.3 on street tires. I have the stuff to go turbo 4.8 but a forged 370 and turbo sounds even better. Another reason why im going 6.0 is at ls1truck day at San Antonio raceway just tuned 5.3 w/6 speeds were +/- a tenth or two.

We went over this before, you have two options. Turbo the 4.8 or get your self more cubes. I would turbo the 4.8, it is fairly easy(very if you spend extra cash for a bolt on kit) and makes big power on a stock bottom end.

A 6.0 is a very nice upgrade and then if you do some bolt ons it will be ok. It will not be fast unless you add some squeeze or boost it. I have a 408 complete and only needing a few little odds and ends to put into my truck. If I could do it all over again I would boost the 6.0 and not worry about stroking it.

Boosting a stock LS makes sense in every way!

Knowing then what I know now, I would have kept the 4.8 in my truck and went with boost, but the ls was still kinda new, people were not pushing them like they are now, the FI market was basically magna-charger ( which I never was a fan off), the PC kits were bank. Im not saying I don't love this 6.0 on boost, just that the 4.8 would prob have ran almost as well. They have been proven to make a truck go 11-10's alot. And if they pop, buy a new one for 4-500 buks. I doubt I will ever build a forged set up after seeing what these LS bottom ends can handle. Maybe add a good set of pistons, keep fuel, timing in check and feed it boost. It will live, has been untill people have gotten crazy with boost (20lbs) +. Naturally in all out racing set up the 4.8 is not going to drive as easy as more cubes, but I guess it is all what your looking to do with it.

My brother had a 06 scsb we put a stock lq4 in it with headers, 3600 stall, 4.56 gears. It ran 13.1@101 still spinning a bit in a 6k da day. Would of had 12.7s with new tires and colder air.

jake i did not send a log when i tuned it, it was a basic mail order tune from a sight sponsor. not throwing out names but have had nothing but issues since the 228r, 4 tunes back n fourth and still has massive problems. a buddy of mine wanted to do a log part throttle and a WOT needless to say hes never seen anything so bad so im sure a big part of this running so bad is in the tune. timing graphs were up and down horribly, as for AFR's my wb showed 12.8@WOT. RS/SS im starting to feel were in the same boat there broskii, if i cant break 13s after heads etc im definitley going to feel this build was a complete waste. custm i figured if i did go 6.0 id swap all my bolt ons and the cam into it, if not a bigger one. andy those are some damn good times n/a i was just wondering if i could crack a 13.9 after heads and all that crap but definitley got a displacement disadvantage over what youve got. mangled, i definitley see your points as well. i wanted to go procharger later on after the heads etc but ive already got 11k into this thing, between the heads and the 5k list in front of me another 4k isnt something im ready to drop into it anytime soon lol.

in all honesty with the **** tune/**** times i ran on an unprepped track, dont you think 13s is doable with heads? i might ditch the 228r for a bigger cam go with new rocker arms, UDP's, tbss intake mani and tune. starting over with the 6.0 would cost me more in the long run since im just about done with the 4.8, my goals for this truck were high 13s on motor once its met im leaving it as is.

I will post it again. Boost or more inches.

Chances of 13s being enough is doubtful at best. So while 13s are a slim chance after you spend bunch of money on heads you are completely maxed out on the 4.8 and will be looking for more power.

Yes That is correct .1 off the 60 will be ~.2 in quarter. If you could get a lq9 for 450 that should be a no brainer.
